Mr. Boersma was a longtime community and church leader in Western Michigan. He served in a leadership role at Hope College through its Board of Trustees for more than 20 years.

He is survived by his wife: Constance and children: William and Claire Boersma of Holland, Elizabeth and Thomas Jasperse of Traverse City, MI, Paul and Melody Boersma of Zeeland, 9 grandchildren: Bryan and Melissa Boersma of Holland, Rachael, David and Brent Boersma all of Holland, Aaron, Joel and Emily Boermsa of Zeeland, Jimmy and Scotty Jasperse of Traverse City, MI, brother: Rodney and Shirley Boersma of Bowling Green, KY, brother and sister-in-law William and Constance Hinga of Pella, Iowa, also several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service will be held next Sunday, January 26, 2 p.m. at Dimnent Memorial Chapel (corner of 12th and College). Burial will be in Pilgrim Home Cemetary.

Visitation will be Monday 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Mulder Chapel, Dykstra Funeral Homes, 188 West 32nd St.
